BostonBruins.com - David Pastrnak capped off an impressive performance at the 2022 IIHF World Championship on Sunday with a hat trick in Czechia's 8-4 victory over the United States in the bronze medal game in Finland.
The B's winger notched all three of his goals in the third period to propel Czechia to a stirring comeback over the Americans. Czechia, which captured its first World Championship medal since its bronze in 2012, scored six times in the final frame to overcome a 3-1 deficit with David Kampf also notching two tallies.

Pastrnak finished the Worlds with seven goals, tied with Canada's Pierre-Luc Dubois for the tournament lead. Overall, he collected 10 points in seven games.
The 26-year-old Havirov native tied the game, 3-3, just 51 seconds into the third when he beat Bruins teammate Jeremy Swayman with a wrister from the left wing circle. Pastrnak extended Czechia's lead to 5-3 some three minutes later when he redirected one home off a feed from Michal Jordan, before finishing off his hat trick in the final minute with a tap-in from the doorstep. Former Bruins center David Krejci had an assist in the win and is tied for fourth in tournament scoring with 12 points (three goals, nine assists) in 10 games.

Swayman made 25 saves for the Americans in the loss and finished the tournament with a 2.23 goals against average, .910 save percentage, and two shutouts in seven games.
