Poitras and the Storm beat the Niagara Ice Dogs on Friday, November 18 by a score of 6-4. Poitras earned himself four assists, with three of the four helpers coming in the third period to give the Storm the comeback win after being down 3-2 to start the third. The following day, Poitras was even more of a standout, scoring once in the first period and again in the second, while also adding two assists in the Storm's 5-3 win over the

Poitras earned first star honors on Saturday and went on to earn the recognition of the OHL.
The Storm has had a difficult start to the season, winning just six of the 21 games played so far but Poitras believes they have the skill to improve that record as the season continues.
"Despite the tough start to the season, we have a great group of guys," said Poitras. "I believe that we can turn this season around with the group we have."
Something Poitras credits his success to this season is his improvement on faceoffs. Poitras has won 54.3% of his draws so far this season and it is noticeable how it has affected his game. "I feel like I've improved a lot in face-off dot," said Poitras. "It's helping lead to more puck possession, more scoring chances and easier zone exits on defensive zone draws."
The centerman has also been enjoying keeping up with the B's when he can. "Not all of their games are on TV where I live," said Poitras. "But I've watched as many games as I can and been following all the scores. The team is very exciting and it just seems that they find a way to win just about every night."
