Subban is in his fourth pro season with the Bruins organization. Overall, the 22-year-old has played in 99 games, posting a 45-31-15 record. In 2015-16, he went 14-8-5 before suffering a fractured larynx that ended his season in February.
He's had a slower start to the season than he would have liked - going 0-3-1 with a .846 save percentage - but had a better outing in Providence's overtime loss to the Albany Devils on Sunday, making 30 saves.
"I feel like I'm battling; I feel like that's the biggest thing right now, is just to battle," said Subban. "You know, it isn't the first time I've faced adversity; it's not going to be the last, so I don't feel too down on myself right now, to be honest."
When it comes to Julien, the bench boss just wants his netminder to do his job, no matter who's between the pipes.
"As a coach, there's only one thing that matters to me and that's stop the puck," said Julien. "I don't care how you do it; just stop it. I'm not a goalie coach, so as a coach, I'm dependent on him making the saves and the goalie coach working on the technique."
"If I get the call, I'll be ready to go," said Subban.
