BostonBruins.com - On the heels of Patrice Bergeron's record-setting fifth Selke Trophy victory earlier this month, the Bruins collected some other hardware on Tuesday night as Jeremy Swayman and Charlie McAvoy were feted for their outstanding 2021-22 campaigns following the abbreviated 2022 NHL Awards in Tampa.

Swayman was named the NHL's All-Rookie Team goaltender, earning 190 of a possible 196 votes from the Professional Hockey Writers Association to beat out Alex Nedeljkovic (Detroit), Kaapo Kahkonen (Minnesota), and Spencer Knight (Florida). The 23-year-old is the first Bruin to make the squad since McAvoy in 2017-18 and the first B's goalie to be named to the team since Andrew Raycroft in 2003-04 (a season in which he also won the Calder Trophy as Rookie of the Year).
Swayman finished his first full season in the NHL with a 23-14-3 record, a 2.41 goals against average (sixth in the NHL), a .914 save percentage (tied ninth), and three shutouts. He also started five of the club's seven playoff games, going 3-2 with a 2.63 GAA and .911 save percentage.
The Alaska native finished fifth in the Calder voting with 210 points (two first-place votes) behind Detroit's Moritz Seider (1,853), Anaheim's Trevor Zegras (1,191), Toronto's Michael Bunting (877), and Detroit's Lucas Raymond (499).

McAvoy, meanwhile, earned his first postseason All-Star team nod. The blue liner finished fourth with 286 points (seven first-place votes) - behind Colorado's Cale Makar (950), Nashville's Roman Josi (920), and Tampa Bay's Victor Hedman (599) - to grab a spot on the Second Team. He is the first Bruins defenseman named to a postseason All-Star Team since Zdeno Chara was tabbed to the First Team in 2013-14.
The 24-year-old set career highs in games played (78), goals (10), assists (46), points (56), plus-minus (plus-31), and time on ice (24:38 per game) during the 2021-22 campaign. His stellar season also earned him a fourth-place finish in the Norris Trophy balloting with 358 points (one first-place vote), behind Makar (1,631), Josi (1,606), and Hedman (940).
It is the highest Norris finish yet for McAvoy, who placed fifth last season and 10th in 2019-20.
Bergeron finished tied for seventh with Vancouver's J.T. Miller among centers in the 2021-22 All-Star voting, while David Pastrnak ranked fifth among right wingers. Retired Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask received one third-place vote to finish in a tie with Pittsburgh's Tristan Jarry and L.A.'s Jonathan Quick for 11th among goalies.
