BOSTON - Jeremy Swayman will get the call between the pipes for the Bruins on Thursday night against the Detroit Red Wings at TD Garden. It will be the rookie netminder's fourth start of the season and his first since Oct. 28 in Carolina.
"I'm taking it day by day," Swayman said of adjusting to the long breaks in the schedule. "That's what I've learned definitely in pro hockey, especially. It's rare that we get this much time off. It's something that you want to cherish at the same time and make sure that your body is prepared to get back into game mode.
"I think we've done a great job with that, our conditioning on ice, our practices have been 100 percent all out. That's the culture here. Every day, I think we've all gotten better and prepared ourselves to play."
