"Well, there's not much too update," Head Coach Claude Julien said following Friday's skate at Warrior Ice Arena. "The general soreness he had last week is still there a little bit, so it's kind of maintenance and it's day to day, and we've got to figure it out and see how things are going to be [on Saturday], and go according to that."
Rask stopped 28 of 29 Devils' shots in the Bruins' 2-1 win over New Jersey in Thursday's home opener.
In Rask's absence, Weymouth, Mass., native and Babson College Goalie Coach Mike Ronan filled in for practice.
Anton Khudobin suited up in Toronto for his season debut. As is the case every season, the Bruins will consistently rely on two goaltenders.
"It's good, because it seems like the schedule every year gets tougher and tougher," said Julien. "We started the season a little later this year because of the World Cup, games get crammed up, so you can't just rely on one goaltender anymore. It's important that you have a second guy that can go in there and play almost just as well as the other and nothing better than if it is that case, it's great competition."
"You need that second guy, and you also need that third guy, because we've seen so many times that teams have lost their top two and have had to rely on their third."
