John McLean

SKATING and SKILLS COACH COACH

John McLean is in his third season with the Bruins as he returns to the team as a Skating and Skills Coach after spending the 2023-24 season as an Assistant Coach. He will add the responsibilities this season to work with all players in our development system in guiding their understanding of the work needed to develop as a Bruin. McLean previously co-founded Dynamic Skating along with fellow skating consultant Tom Ford and former Bruins Skills and Skating Coach Kim Brandvold in 2010. In 2022, He was appointed as head coach of the Austin Prep Varsity Boys Ice Hockey team in 2020 and had also served as the head coach of Malden Catholic School’s boys varsity hockey team that won five Super 8 titles since 2011. The Wakefield, MA native played four seasons of college hockey at Boston College from 1983-1987 and also played 45 games in the American Hockey League for the Binghamton Whalers and Maine Mariners.
