MONTREAL - Frederik Dichow and Joel Armia were both in action at the 2023 IIHF World Championship on Saturday.

Here's a recap of their respective performances:

HUNGARY 1 - 3 DENMARK

Dichow, a fifth-round selection of the Canadiens in 2019, was between the pipes for Denmark in their first game of the tournament.

The opening frame was uneventful for the Dane as he faced only two shots from the Hungarians.

A perfect play between Bence Szabo and Istvan Sofron got the best of the 22-year-old goaltender in the third period.

The netminder finished the game with 16 saves on 17 shots.

GERMANY 3 - 4 FINLAND

The Finns had the chance to redeem themselves following a disappointing 4-1 loss to the Americans in their opening game of the Championship.

Armia, who was named Player of the Game for the tournament co-hosts on Friday, opened the scoring for his country. Near the halfway mark of the first period, the Canadiens winger took advantage of a beautiful play from teammate Kaapo Kakko to give Finland a 1-0 lead off a one-timer.

Armia registered one shot on goal in 14 minutes of ice time.
