The Chicago Blackhawks honored Marc-Andre Fleury on Wednesday for his 500th NHL win with a special tribute featuring those he loves most.

Fleury's wife and three children spoke about Fleury's accomplishments, including his three Stanley Cup championships, four All-Star appearances and winning of the William Jennings and Vezina Trophies, and now, his 500th win, in a video played before the Blackhawks-Capitals game at United Center.
Fleury's two daughters called him "the best Papa in the world" and said they were proud of him for always giving hockey his all.

Fleury became the third goalie in NHL history to win 500 games on Dec. 9 in the Blackhawks' 2-0 victory at the Montreal Canadiens. He made 29 saves for his 69th NHL shutout.

Fleury's wife, Veronique, detailed
her own tribute
to her husband of 20 years.
"Marc is such a team guy," she said. "He has always valued his team's success over his own. Lifting the Stanley Cup was a dream come true for him. Making the Olympic team in Vancouver was another."
During his first 14 years with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Veronique said Fleury cherishes the memories playing with and against others considered to be hockey legends, so much so that in one of the Fleury's moving boxes is the first practice puck he saved against former Penguins center Mario Lemieux.
But Veronique said she is most proud of who Fleury is away from the ice.
"He does so much in the community, most of which never gets mentioned because he doesn't want the recognition," she said. "Little acts of kindness, like taking kids who are battling cancer to games, or buying pizza for a homeless shelter in Edmonton while in the bubble two summers ago, or paying six months of rent for a struggling family or building a playground for underprivileged kids."
