MONTREAL – A big third period for the Habs allowed them to overcome a 4-1 deficit and force extra time, but unfortunately for the home side, the Avs got the best of them with a 5-4 shootout win at the Bell Centre on Saturday.

First Peoples Celebration presented by CN in collaboration with Tim Hortons

The Canadiens honored Indigenous cultures tonight at the Bell Centre.

Earlier in the day, a group of kids from Lac-Simon, Manawan, Mashteuiatsh and Kahnawake hit the ice at the Bell Centre and got to meet Kirby Dach and Kaiden Guhle. Members of CN and the Regroupement des centres d’amitié autochtones du Québec were also present for the skate.

O Canada was performed by Keyara Gros-Louis, a member of the Huron-Wendat First Nation, and many other activations took place throughout the venue as well.

Roster

No changes were made to the Canadiens’ lineup.

Samuel Montembeault got his fourth start in a row and stopped 33 shots. For more stats, check out the Gamecenter summary here.
