Arlington, Va. - The Washington Capitals and Monumental Sports & Entertainment Foundation's Pride auction featuring autographed player-used sticks wrapped in rainbow-color 'Pride Tape' raised $25,760. Proceeds benefit SMYAL (Supporting and Mentoring Youth Advocates and Leaders), with a portion of funds allocated for Team DC.

The Pride fundraiser also featured autographed Capitals Pride pucks. Top-selling items included a 2021-22 team-signed Capitals jersey, a framed, autographed Pride puck set, a Vitek Vanecek player-used, signed Pride Tape goalie stick, a Nicklas Backstrom player-used, signed Pride Tape stick and a Tom Wilson player-used, signed Pride Tape stick.
Proceeds from the Capitals 50/50 Raffle on March 3 also benefitted SMYAL.
Committed to diversity and inclusion, the Capitals hosted Pride Night for the sixth-consecutive year on March 3. In addition, Monumental Sports & Entertainment has participated in the Capital Pride Parade for four years. The Capitals also partnered with local artist Lisa Marie Thalhammer to install a rainbow mural at 2412 18th Street NW in 2019.
