Harvey the Hound is taking hockey back to its roots! This season, the Calgary Flames mascot is leading the team to the breathtaking Rocky Mountains for a truly unique outdoor game—Harvey’s Mountain Classic. Played on a frozen lake surrounded by stunning scenery, this special event brings the beauty of the game and the great outdoors together like never before.
Flames fans will love this one! Brendan Parker (Flames TV host) and Meaghan Mikkelson (Sportsnet 960 The Fan) will bring the game to life as play-by-play and colour commentators—but with a twist. Both will appear as animated avatars, calling the game from NHL Studios in New York, adding a fresh, family-friendly feel to the broadcast.
Harvey’s Mountain Classic isn’t just about the game—it’s a full experience! The program will feature special content starring Brendan’s son Kade and Meaghan’s son Calder, alongside all of your favourite Flames players. Expect fun hockey insights, educational moments, and behind-the-scenes content that fans of all ages will enjoy.
Harvey’s Mountain Classic isn’t just about outdoor hockey—it’s about pushing the game forward with cutting-edge technology! Using NHL EDGE Positional Data (puck & player tracking) and Sony’s Beyond Sports technology, every pass, shot, and goal will be transformed into a one-of-a-kind animated experience.
This real-time data merges with Sony’s Hawk-Eye Innovations optical tracking, bringing the action to life in a completely new way. Whether it’s a big hit, a highlight-reel save, or a top-shelf goal, you’ll see the game from a fresh, dynamic perspective—perfect for fans of all ages.
