Update at 11:28 a.m.
Devils goaltender Jonathan Bernier has been placed on Injured Reserve with a lower-body injury, the team announced Friday morning.
Head coach Lindy Ruff said he was "worried and very concerned" about the long-term effects of the hip injury, which has plagued Bernier since training camp.
"I am worried," Ruff said. "We're all concerned about long term and where this is going to go, where we'll end up going forward. So I'm worried and very concerned."
The hip issue has forced Bernier to miss practices and some games during the early part of the year.
"He'll meet with our doctors and medical staff to try to figure out what the next steps can be," Ruff said.
Bernier has appeared in 10 games for New Jersey this season, going 4-4-1 with a 3.06 goals-against average and .906 save percentage.
The 6-foot, 185-pound netminder won his first three games between the pipes for New Jersey to start the season.
