The 2018-19 roster includes many familiar faces from the previous season including 2018 Hart Trophy Winner, Taylor Hall, and 2018 Masterton Trophy Winner, Brian Boyle. Additionally on offense is 2017 First Overall NHL Draft Pick, Nico Hischier - the youngest player in the NHL last season - who received a very warm welcome home during the exhibition game in Bern.
Some newcomers to the squad include Jean-Sebastien Dea, who played 70 games during the 2017-18 season with Wilkes-Barre, and five games last season with the Pittsburgh Penguins, and Eric Gryba, an NHL veteran, who played last season with the Oilers.
John Quenneville also earned a spot on the opening night roster after playing 43 games with the Devils AHL affiliate in Binghamton during the 2017-18 season, earning a total of 34 points (14g-20a). Quenneville is no stranger to New Jersey after playing a total of 14 games with the big club over the past two seasons.
