Devils defenseman Brendan Smith has been suspended for two games for his slash in the third period of New Jersey's 4-3 overtime win at Philadelphia Thursday night.
Smith was assessed a slashing penalty against Travis Konecny on the play in a retaliation play.
Konecny initiated the dispute with a cross check. He was fined by the league $5,000.
