The New Jersey Devils submitted their 23-man regular-season roster to the NHL prior to Monday's mandatory 5 p.m. deadline.
Some highlights:
- Nineteen-year-old rookie center Dawson Mercer has earned a spot on the team out of training camp.
- PTOs (player tryouts) Jimmy Vesey and Freddy Gauthier both earned contracts from the club.
- Waiver pick-up Mason Geertsen made the team as a right-handed blueliner.
- Four players have been placed on Injured Reserve (Tyce Thompson, Ty Smith, Damon Severson, Miles Wood). But all four can be activated and play in Friday's season opener against Chicago.
- The Devils will carry 13 forwards, seven defensemen and three goaltenders.
