Hughes will be joined by Kirill Kaprizov from Minnesota, Alex DeBrincat from Chicago, Alex Pietrangelo from Vegas, and his good friend Trevor Zegras from Anaheim. The goalies will be special guests Manon Rhéaume and actor Wyatt Russell. Rhéaume was the first woman to play in the NHL, suiting up in two preseason games for Tampa Bay. Russell is an actor, son of Kurt Russell, and has played for minor league teams.
The skills competition hasn't had the breakaway challenge since 2016. Shooters can start in the neutral zone and move through the offensive zone, including behind the net. It's a trick-shot competition and we're excited to see what Hughes comes up with.
Each skater will get two shot attempts and be judged on a 1-10 scale. Highest combined score wins.
