The New Jersey Devils and Prudential Center will continue to celebrate the NHL's Hockey Is For Everyone movement this month with Pride Night on Monday, February 27 as the team takes on the Montreal Canadiens. General doors open at 5:30 p.m. for the 7 p.m. puck drop and tickets are available at NewJerseyDevils.com/NJPride.
Pride Night will be hosted in partnership with You Can Play, Newark Gay Pride and The Essex County RAIN Foundation to kick off the NHL's Pride Week. In addition to raising awareness for issues surrounding the LBGTQ community, the Devils will raise funds for partners through several initiatives before, during and after the game.
Prior to the start of the game, the Devils will host a networking event at 5 p.m. featuring special guests Sharronda Wheeler, the president of Newark Gay Pride, and David Farber, brand ambassador for You Can Play. Tickets, which include entry to the Devils vs. Canadiens game, are available at NewJerseyDevils.com/NJPride.
Devils Pride Night t-shirts will be available throughout the game at the Devils Den team store and a portion of proceeds from sales will benefit Newark Gay Pride. Proceeds from the game's 50/50 raffle will be donated to the The Essex County Reaching Adolescents In Need (RAIN) Foundation, a non-profit that provides emergency shelter services to LBGTQ individuals experiencing crisis.
