The second round is in the books. The Sweet-16 gives way to the Elite-8 as the state's best prepare for the quarterfinals. Here's a recap of all nine NJSIAA/New Jersey Devils second-round bouts from Friday. The state tournament resumes on Monday.

Second Round
2-Ridge 9, 18-Manalapan 3:Alex Konovalov was fire on ice with four goals and Blake Loges and Matt Fabuinke each chipped in a pair of assists as Ridge rolled at Bridgewater Sports Arena. Brian Breslow, Tyler Ebeling, Matt Innamarato, Dan Knightly and Connor Villa also scored for Ridge, which will meet River Dell in the quarterfinals. Freddie Brutto scored twice and John Fanizza also hit for Manalapan.
13-Watchung Hills 4, 4-Hunterdon Central 3 (SO): Michael Brady was the lone goal-scorer in the shootout while goaltender Ryan McHugh stood tall with 43 saves as Watchung Hills prevailed at Flemington Ice Arena. Zach Lindewirth and Matt Piro gave Watchung Hills a two-goal lead but Hunterdon Central scored three straight, two from Scott Schnell, to go up 3-2 before Piro tied it back up and forced overtime with 3:05 left. Watchung Hills will take on Livingston in the quarterfinals.
5-Livingston 2, 12-Morristown 1 (OT): Max Solomon's power-play goal, assisted by Minkyu Yang and Chase Friedfertig with 8:42 into sudden-death, lifted Livingston to victory in overtime at Codey Arena in West Orange. Matthew Delseni made 14 saves for Livingston, which will take on Watchung Hills in the quarterfinals. Jay Horan scored for Morristown.
11-Sparta/Jefferson 4, 6-Freehold Township 2:Jaxon Mase and Mike Kwiecinski each scored twice while C.J. Leonardo picked up a pair of assists as Sparta pulled out the upset at the Jersey Shore Arena in Wall. Logan Hanek made 20 saves for Sparta, which will go up against Randolph in the next round. Julian Kislin and Tyler McNamara hit for Freehold.

Second Round
1-Glen Rock 3, 16-Jackson Memorial 0:Peter Cassidy, Eddie Corvelli and Matthew Maselli each found the back of the net as top-seeded Glen Rock pitched a shutout at the Ice House in Hackensack. Ryan McAuley turned aside every shot he faced for Glen Rock, which will prepare for Summit in the quarterfinals.
3-Middletown South 8, 19-Jackson Liberty 1:Travis Yawger scored three goals, two on the power-play, and Ryan D'Emilia added a goal and three assists as Middletown South rolled at Middletown Ice World. Dan Berkowitz, Chris Falzone, Ryan Lambert and Nick Lioudakis also hit for Middletown South, which will take on Lakeland in the next round. Joe Granza hit for Jackson Liberty.
12-Point Pleasant Boro 2, 5-Indian Hills 1: Matt Kimak's goal, assisted by Thomas Colorio and Christopher Miller with 2:39 remaining in regulation, snapped the tie and sent Point Pleasant Boro on to upset at the Ice Vault in Wayne. Eric Dahl also scored while Cooper Klotz made 19 saves for Point Pleasant Boro, which will host Middletown North in the next round. Drew Lustig hit for Indian Hills.
6-Lakeland 3, 11-Millburn 0:Andrew Heck scored twice and Luke Broderick also lit the lamp as Lakeland prevailed at the Ice Vault in Wayne. Carl Lorenz put up a wall in between the pipes, recording the shutout for Lakeland, which will skate against Middletown South in the quarterfinals.
8-Summit 2, 9-Madison 0:Will Vitton snapped a scoreless tie with 5:27 remaining in regulation before setting up Owen McLaughlin 1:42 later as Summit defeated Madison at Union Sports Arena. Wilson Lees posted a 21-saves shutout for Summit, which meets Glen Rock in the quarterfinals. Matt Ubertaccio had 35 saves for Madison.
