Injury Update

Head coach Sheldon Keefe provided an update on defensemen Brett Pesce (ankle) and Luke Hughes (shoulder).

"They will travel with us today. We haven’t made a determination. I think it would be fair to say that we’ll see them this weekend in one of these games be it in Detroit or against the islanders. We’ll see how they respond to practice today, how they get through it tomorrow and make a decision what’s best for them. We have a busy schedule upcoming, so we have to make sure we manage them appropriately and monitor where they’re at."

The Devils had their full compliment of players on the ice, including injured defenseman Brett Pesce (ankle) and Luke Hughes (shoulder).

Practice Reboot

After suffering an 8-5 loss to Tampa Bay Tuesday night, Keefe was pleased with what he saw from his team at practice.

"It was great energy. A great practice," he said. "It showed me that we have a group that’s committed to getting better, which is what I wanted to see and what I spoke to them about last night. I was really happy with that and now we get a chance to bring it on the road with us."

Bratt echoed that response.

“Come in with a really good purpose and understanding that we have to get better," he said. "You put that effort int the practice to create better habits, create more energy. That’s the only thing you can do.”

He Said It:

Noesen on today's work: "We worked on breakouts especially, getting pucks off the wall, more in the middle of the ice. We had a nice battle practice the other day. Today was more about systems itself."
