The New Jersey Devils announced today that forward Zach Senyshyn has signed a Professional Tryout contract (PTO). Senyshyn will join New Jersey when all players report to NHL camp on Wed., Sept. 21, at Prudential Center. The announcement was made by Executive Vice President/General Manager Tom Fitzgerald.
Senyshyn, 25, spent parts of the past seven seasons with Boston's American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, Providence, from 2017-18 to 2021-22. He was named assistant captain of Providence for the 2020-21 and 2021-22 campaigns. Additionally, Senyshyn, played in 16 contests for Belleville (Ottawa) last season in the AHL. Overall, the 6'1", 210lbs. forward totaled 113 career points (59g-54a) in 259 regular-season games at the AHL level.
Born on March 30, 1997, the native of Ottawa, Ont., was Boston's first-round selection, 15th overall, in the 2015 NHL Draft. Senyshyn skated in his NHL debut on Apr. 4, 2019, at Minnesota, and earned his first-career goal in the contest. Senyshyn has played in 16 career NHL contests since he debuted in 2018-19 with Boston.
