The Flames will play each divisional opponent four times, with the exception of Edmonton who they will face in five games, three in Calgary and two in Edmonton. Calgary will play each Central Division opponent three times and will play all Eastern Conference opponents twice (once home and once away).
The Flames host the Chicago Blackhawks on New Year's Eve on Sunday, December 31st. The Christmas schedule also includes home games against Edmonton (December 2nd), Philadelphia (December 4th), Vancouver (December 9th), San Jose (December 14th), Nashville (December 16th), St.Louis (December 20th), and Montreal (December 22nd).
Calgary's longest home stand this season is six games starting October 27th through November 9th as the Flames host Dallas, Washington, Pittsburgh, New Jersey, Vancouver and Detroit.
Calgary has a pair of six game road trips which are the longest of the season. The first starts on November 15th in Detroit, with stops in Philadelphia, Washington, Columbus, Dallas and finishing in Colorado on November 25th. The second six game trip starts February 6th in Chicago before heading to New Jersey, New York Rangers, New York Islanders, Boston and finishes in Nashville on February 15th.
The Eastern Conference Canadian teams will play at the Scotiabank Saddledome once each with Ottawa on October 13th, Toronto coming on November 28th and Montreal on December 22nd.
The Flames will travel to face the three Canadian teams in the Eastern Conference in Toronto on December 6th, Montreal on December 7th and in Ottawa on March 9th. Calgary will also travel to Winnipeg once to face Western Conference rivals, the Jets, on April 5th in their final regular season road game and host them twice at the Scotiabank Saddledome for the home opener on October 6th and again on January 20th. The Flames have five meetings with Edmonton (at home on December 2nd, March 13th and 31st and on the road on October 4th and January 25th) and four meetings with Vancouver (at home on November 7th and December 9th and on the road on October 14th and December 17th).
The day-by-day breakdown is as follows: Monday (9), Tuesday (11), Wednesday (12), Thursday (16), Friday (10), Saturday (16) and Sunday (8). Other schedule notables include hosting the defending Stanley Cup Champion Pittsburgh Penguins, November 2nd and visiting the Penguins on March 5th. The Flames also face the newest member of the NHL and Pacific Division opponent, Vegas Golden Knights four times (at home on January 30th and April 7th and on the road on February 21st and March 18th). Calgary plays back-to-back 12 times and the schedule features 19 home stints and 18 road trips.
The Flames will break for the NHL All-Star Weekend hosted by Tampa Bay from January 27th - 28th and they will also take two a five-day breaks December 23rd - 27th and January 15th - 19th.
All Flames home and away games will be carried live on the radio on Sportsnet 960 The FAN. The complete television schedule will be released in August.
