CALGARY -The Calgary Flames announced today that they have signed college free agent defenceman Colton Poolman to a one-year entry-level contract starting in 2020-21.
Poolman, a native of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, plays at the University of North Dakota where he finished the season with four goals and 13 assists for 17 points in 31 games. The 24-year-old skated in 146 games for UND over four seasons, totaling 18 goals and 57 assists for 75 points. The 6'1" blueliner captained the Fighting Hawks for the past two seasons and was named as an honourable mention to the NCHC All-Star Team in 2018-19 and 2019-20.
