Today, the Philadelphia Flyers announced today that the full roster of players, coaches, and hockey operations staff will be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in time for the start of the 2021-2022 NHL season.

"We'll be fully vaccinated for the start of the season, for sure." said Chuck Fletcher, General Manager and President of Hockey Operations. "We've had a great response from all staff and players. We look forward to having a much more normal season than last year."

"We know that the Flyers are more than a hockey team, we're a pillar of this community, and that's why we've taken a leading role in encouraging everyone to protect themselves and others by getting vaccinated," said Valerie Camillo, President of Business Operations for the Philadelphia Flyers. "Through our partnership with Penn Medicine, the Black Doctors COVID-19 Consortium, local health officials, and others, we've been able to make a real difference in the Philadelphia region, and we're very proud to have our full team and hockey operations staff vaccinated before the start of the season."

As vaccines finally became widely available in April, the Philadelphia Flyers launched the "Take Your Shot" campaign, making the organization the first professional sports team in Pennsylvania and the first NHL franchise with a comprehensive vaccine awareness and support campaign. Teamed up with Penn Medicine, the Black Doctors COVID-19 Consortium, and public health leaders, the Flyers supported vaccination sites throughout the Philadelphia region and even provided vaccinations at the team's final regular season home game in partnership with Penn Medicine.
