VEGAS (February 13, 2019) - Vegas Golden Knights President Kerry Bubolz announced today, February 13, that the team has named Darren Eliot as Vice President, Hockey Programming and Facility Operations. In addition to his duties directing facility operations at City National Arena, Eliot will also oversee the Vegas Jr. Golden Knights program as the club's Executive Director.
Eliot joins the Golden Knights after overseeing the Little Caesars Amateur Hockey Program with the Detroit Red Wings since 2014. He also served as the organization's representative to USA Hockey and Michigan Amateur Hockey Association (MAHA) Tier 1 Committee, Girls/Women Committee and served as the State's Goaltending Coordinator. Beginning in 2011, Eliot appeared as the in-studio analyst for Fox Sports Detroit's coverage of the Red Wings, while sitting in as game analyst for select NHL road games and Fox Sports Detroit's college hockey coverage.
Prior to joining the Red Wings organization, the Hamilton, Ontario native initiated hockey school programs with the then Mighty Ducks of Anaheim and forged the Junior Thrashers program with the Atlanta Thrashers. During his time in Atlanta, Eliot oversaw the strategic direction and leadership of all hockey development programs - from grassroots initiatives to high performance. At the same time, he was the TV analyst for Thrashers games and broadcast nationally for Versus/NBC and NHL Radio. Eliot also wrote a weekly column, "View From the Ice", for Sports Illustrated on
