There's a saying: don't do anything great unless you can handle the congratulations.
For Reid Duke, who signed to become the first player in Golden Knights history on Monday, this famous saying became reality, courtesy of social media.
After all, if you're 21-years-old and instantly go from being a relatively unknown (on a national scale) junior player to a trending topic on Twitter, you have to imagine that your buddies are going to do something about it.
For Duke, that buddy was his roommate Caiden Daley, a 17-year-old center with the Brandon Wheat Kings.

Now that's….a sweater.
Although to be fair, when Duke took this photo with Daley last Christmas, he could've hardly expected that he was months away from becoming the first player in the history of an NHL franchise, and having it splashed all over the internet.

Duke could also have hardly expected that he'd be asked the follow up question: if 'milkers on you,' what in the heck is a milker?
"I'm a guy that has a hard time turning down dessert or a good milkshake," Duke said with a laugh. "Me, a lot of the guys and my roommate, whenever we have a long practice, or after a game or something, we never forget to run over to the closest DQ or whatever it may be. Grab a little treat."

So to set the record straight, the next time the Wheat Kings go to the local Dairy Queen, Duke is paying.
We guess this is truly the spoils of signing your first professional contract.
As they say: don't do anything great unless you can handle the congratulations.
