HOBEY BAKER AWARD WINNER
Eichel spent one season at Boston University in the NCAA before starting his professional career. He helped the Terriers win the Beanpot Championship and Hockey East Championship during his one year on Commonwealth Avenue. BU fell to Providence in the National Championship game, but Eichel's individual performances earned him college hockey's top honor. With 71 points (25G, 46A) in 40 games, Eichel won the Hobey Baker Memorial Award given annually to the best player in men's college hockey.
SECOND OVERALL PICK
With the second overall pick in the 2015 NHL Draft, the Buffalo Sabres claimed Eichel from Boston University. The highly touted center went one pick after the Edmonton Oilers took Connor McDavid with the first overall selection. Eichel joins Nolan Patrick as players on the Vegas roster who were second overall picks.
SCORED IN HIS FIRST NHL GAME
Despite Buffalo's 3-1 loss to the Ottawa Senators on Oct. 9, 2015, Eichel opened his NHL scoring tab with a third-period goal in his NHL debut. After following a loose puck behind the net, Eichel opened himself up to the left of the net, received a pass and roofed his shot to join the exclusive list of players who scored in their first game in the league.
ANOTHER CAPTAIN ON THE SHIP
Eichel was the captain of the Buffalo Sabres for three seasons before being traded to the Golden Knights. He is one of four players on the Vegas roster who has been a captain at one point in his NHL career. Eichel joins Mark Stone, Max Pacioretty and Alex Pietrangelo on that list.

In 375 NHL games, Eichel has clicked just shy of a point-per-game with 355 points (139G, 216A). His offensive prowess is reflected in his power-play stats as he's netted 25 power-play goals and a total of 127 power-play points. Eichel is responsible for a 25 game-winning goals, eight of which have come in overtime.
