The Vegas Golden Knights (29-16-2) cruised to a 6-2 victory against the Washington Capitals (25-18-6) on Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena.

HOW IT WENT DOWN
Early in the first period, Alec Martinez scored his first goal of the season to get Vegas off and running less than three minutes in. Nicolas Roy added to the lead five minutes later and the Golden Knights went into the second period with a 2-0 lead. Vegas exploded in the middle frame as Michael Amadio, Byron Froese and Paul Cotter found the back of the net to put the home team ahead, 5-0. A late second-period goal from T.J. Oshie gave Washington something to celebrate heading into the third period. Cotter put home his second of the night in the third period and, despite another Capitals goal, the Golden Knights skated to the 6-2 win.
