Hertl's Four-Point Night Lifts Golden Knights to 6-1 Win Over Kings

The Golden Knights returned home to T-Mobile Arena with a dominant 6-1 win over the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday night at T-Mobile Arena.

HOW IT WENT DOWN
The Golden Knights started the game hot, scoring three goals in the first period. Tomas Hertl netted the first goal on the night for Vegas on the power play 9:07 into the game. With 6:09 left in the period, Mark Stone deflected in a shot from Hertl on the power play to double the Golden Knights’ lead to 2-0. Pavel Dorofeyev made it a 3-0 game 1:21 after the Stone deflection for his third goal of the season. The second period saw the lone goal for the Kings with 53 seconds remaining. The Golden Knights dominated in the final period, with Alexander Holtz scoring his first as a Golden Knight 2:59 in to extend the Vegas lead to 4-1. Hertl scored his second of the night 8:26 into the period, and Ivan Barbashev sealed the deal for a 6-1 win with 6:35 remaining in the game. Ilya Samsonov had 32 saves on the night.

Mark Stone (2G, 7A) joined Jack Eichel (2G, 8A) as the second Golden Knights player with 10+ points this season. Vegas has never had multiple players with 10-plus points through their first seven games of a campaign until this season.

Jack Eichel (2G, 9A) assisted on Tomas Hertl’s first goal and boosted his point total this season to 11. Eichel was one of eight players with 10 or more points entering play Tuesday.

Tomas Hertl (2G, 2A) matched a single-game career high with four points (Jan. 17, 2022, Jan. 22, 2019 & Oct. 8, 2013). Hertl’s four-goal performance in 2013 was during his third career game.
