Mattias Janmark notched his first NHL hat trick as the Vegas Golden Knights defeated the Minnesota Wild, 6-2, in Game 7 on Friday night at T-Mobile Arena. Vegas has advanced to take on the Colorado Avalanche in the Stanley Cup Playoffs Second Round.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
Janmark opened the scoring five minutes into the first period to give Vegas the 1-0 lead. Zach Parise scored late in the frame to send the teams into the first intermission all square. Nic Hague registered his first career playoff goal early in the second, but Kirill Kaprizov answered to knot the score at 2-2. Max Pacioretty scored in his first game of the series to give the Golden Knights the lead midway through the second. Zach Whitecloud added another six minutes later, and Vegas carried the 4-2 lead into the third period. Janmark scored at 12:36 of the third and again at 16:53 to complete the hat trick as the Golden Knights secured the 6-2 win in Game 7.
