VEGAS (January 16, 2018) -Vegas Golden Knights General Manager George McPhee announced today, January 16, that the team has signed defenseman Jon Merrill to a two-year contract extension through the 2019-20 season worth an annual average value of $1.375 million.
Merrill has tallied two points (1 G, 1 A) to go with eight penalty minutes in 14 games this season for the Golden Knights. His lone goal was a game-winner against the Pittsburgh Penguins on December 14. Over the course of his five seasons in the NHL, he has recorded 38 points (7 G, 31 A) to go with 96 penalty minutes in 230 games with the Golden Knights and New Jersey Devils.

Merrill was selected by the Vegas Golden Knights during the 2017 Expansion Draft on June 21 from the Devils.
