VEGAS (JAN. 3, 2017) -Vegas Golden Knights General Manager George McPhee announced today, January 3, that the team has signed forward Jonathan Marchessault](https://www.nhl.com/player/jonathan-marchessault-8476539) to a six-year contract extension through the 2023-24 season worth an average annual value of $5 million.
Marchessault has tallied a team-high 37 points (15 G, 22 A) to go with 20 penalty minutes in 35 games this season for the Vegas Golden Knights. He is ranked in the top 25 in the NHL in scoring (22nd) and his 22 assists are a career-high. Over the course of his five seasons in the NHL, he has recorded 107 points (53 G, 54 A) to go with 75 penalty minutes in 159 games with the Golden Knights, Florida Panthers, Tampa Bay Lightning and Columbus Blue Jackets. He recorded the first 30-goal season of his career last year as a member of the Florida Panthers and set career highs in goals (30), points (51) and games played (75).
