Paul Cotter and Jonas Rondbjerg both scored their first NHL goal as the Golden Knights defeated the Minnesota Wild, 3-2, on Thursday night at T-Mobile Arena. Jonathan Marchessault scored the game-winning goal at 19:53 of the second period while Laurent Brossoit made 22 saves for his first home victory as a Golden Knight.

Vancouver sits in seventh place in the Pacific Division through 14 games. The Canucks 2-2-1 in November and head into Saturday's contest after losing the Colorado on Thursday, 7-1. Penalty killing has been a struggle for the Canucks as they rank 32nd in the league with a 62.8 percent efficiency.
J.T. Miller has clicked at better than a point-per-game with 16 points (6G, 10A) in 14 games. Quinn Hughes has piled up 12 points (2G, 10A) from the blueline while summer-acquisition Conor Garland has notched 11 points (3G, 8A) in 14 outings.

The Golden Knights and Canucks haven't squared off in a regular season game since Dec. 15, 2019, when Vegas defeated Vancouver, 6-3. During the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Golden Knights and Canucks met in the second round in the bubble in Edmonton. Vegas won the series in seven games to advance to the Western Conference Final.
