The Vegas Golden Knights (3-2-1) look to bounce back from a tough road trip as they return home to face off against the Los Angeles Kings (3-1-2) on Tuesday at 8 p.m. at T-Mobile Arena.

Tuesday's game is the first game of a four-game homestand for the Golden Knights. Vegas will face Los Angeles on Tuesday, Ottawa on Friday, San Jose on Saturday and Calgary on Monday.

LAST TIME OUTThe Golden Knights lost in overtime to the Florida Panthers with a final score of 4-3, on Saturday night at Amerant Bank Arena. Tanner Pearson and Keegan Kolesar each recorded their first goals of the season, and Nicolas Roy had two assists on the night. The Panthers scored with 16 seconds left in overtime to take the 4-3 win over the Golden Knights. Although the Panthers netted four, Ilya Samsonov came away with a 45-save effort, tying for second highest total saves in franchise history.

2023-24 SEASON SERIESThe Golden Knights went 2-1-0 against the Los Angeles Kings in the 2023-24 season. Jack Eichel scored the shootout-winning goal in the first meeting between Vegas and Los Angeles last season in a 4-3 win on Oct. 28 at Crypto.com Arena. In their second matchup on Nov. 8 the Golden Knights lost 4-1, with the lone goal from William Karlsson. In the final matchup between the two teams, the Golden Knights defeated the Kings, 3-2, on Dec. 28.

OPPOSITION UPDATEThe Los Angeles Kings are 3-1-2 through their first six games. The Kings skated to a 4-1 win against the Anaheim Ducks in their last outing on Sunday night at Honda Center. Tuesday's game against Vegas is the last of a season-opening seven-game road trip for Los Angeles. Anze Kopitar leads the Kings in scoring with eight points (3G, 5A) while Adrian Kempe has posted six points (3G, 3A). Los Angeles finished last season with a 44-27-11 record and 99 points. The Kings qualified for the 2023-24 playoffs but fell in the first round to Edmonton Oilers in five games. The Kings have made the playoffs the last three seasons, all losing in the first round to the Oilers. Adrian Kempe led the Kings last season with 75 points (28G, 47A), with Kevin Fiala right behind him with 73 points (29G, 44A) and Anze Kopitar with 70 points (26G, 44A).

KEYS TO THE GAMEDefensive Control: Head Coach Bruce Cassidy mentioned that changing the defensive pairs might get some guys going and find what is best for the three pairs. The defense aims to have better gaps to make breakouts easier and give forwards more time to get on the rush, according to defenseman Noah Hanifin.
