One of the fun parts of following an expansion team is being able to see the franchise built from the ground up.
Whether it's the naming of the team, the hiring of a coach or the acquisition of players, everything is so new. And where these milestones were achieved decades ago for more established organizations, we're literally seeing every aspect of the Golden Knights built right in front of our eyes.
One of this team's most important milestones came on March 6, when the Golden Knights signed Brandon Wheat Kings center Reid Duke as the first player in franchise history.

Which with it being a few months before KHL scoring star Vadim Shipachyov was added as the second player in franchise history, led to a few humorous moments.

As Duke long remained the only player on the Golden Knights' roster, the question was asked: how long until he no longer had to play soccer by himself.
At last week's Development Camp, we found out.
With Golden Knights prospects in town all week at Las Vegas Ice Center, Reid Duke got soccer teammates.

Which although not one of the larger milestones in team history, is another sign of how far Vegas has come in such a short period of time.
