Game One: Coyotes 4, Kings 2
The second day of the Vegas Rookie Faceoff began with a game between the Arizona Coyotes and Los Angeles Kings, both coming off losses in their opening matchups Saturday. As they did against Anaheim a day ago, the Kings opened the scoring on Michal Ivan's goal late in the first period to take a 1-0 lead into the break. The intermission proved useful for the Coyotes as Pierre-Olivier Joseph and Barrett Hayton combined to set up Jens Looke 25 seconds into the second period. Joseph added another assist at the end of the period as he fed Kyle Capobianco for the go-ahead tally. Spencer Watson tied the game at 6:53 of the third period before Capobianco tucked in his second goal of the game to make it 3-2 Arizona. Looke followed suit and scored his second of the afternoon on the empty net with 1:09 to play, sealing the deal on a 4-2 Coyotes win.
