The Vegas Golden Knights (7-1-1) continued their winning ways to start the season with a 4-3 victory against the Los Angeles Kings (3-6-2) on Sunday afternoon at T-Mobile Arena.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
Less than a minute into the game, Anze Kopitar buried his second goal of the season to give the Kings a 1-0 edge. Reilly Smith answered to tie the game, but a quick strike from Adrian Kempe rebuilt the LA lead to 2-1. Zach Whitecloud netted the first regular season goal of his career to knot the score at 2-2 before Chandler Stephenson fired a shot past Cal Petersen to give Vegas its first lead of the afternoon. In the second period, Jaret Anderson-Dolan evened the score with his first NHL goal and the teams entered the final frame level at 3-3. Stephenson's second of the game gave the Golden Knights a 4-3 lead early in the stanza and Vegas held that lead through the final horn to sweep the weekend.

TURNING POINT
The game slowed down in the second period as Anderson-Dolan's goal was the only score in the frame. With the game tied heading into the third, the Golden Knights were the better team in the first five minutes, and it led to Stephenson's game-winning goal.

Chandler Stephenson: Stephenson's first two-goal game of the year was the difference for the VGK.
Alex Tuch: Tuch picked up a pair of assists on the afternoon.
Shea Theodore: Theodore (1A) recorded a point for the third game in a row.

With the win, the Golden Knights improved to 3-0-0 when wearing their gold jerseys.
