The Vegas Golden Knights had all the wind in their sails as they took a 3-0 lead against the Dallas Stars in the Western Conference Final. On the brink of elimination and forced to play without their captain due to suspension, the Stars clawed their way back into the series with an overtime win in Game 4 and a narrow 4-2 victory in Game 5.

With no interest in a Game 7, the Golden Knights got prepared to put their best foot forward in a crucial Game 6 at American Airlines Center in Dallas.

With a trip to the Stanley Cup Final on the line, the Golden Knights got out to the start they were looking for as William Carrier scored his second goal of the series to give the visitors a 1-0 lead less than four minutes into Game 6.

Midway through the opening period, William Karlsson extended the Vegas lead to 2-0 with a power-play goal.

Keegan Kolesar continued the scoring barrage as he gave the Golden Knights a 3-0 lead heading into the first intermission.

As the goals kept pouring in, the crowd at Stadium Swim at the official VGK Watch Party shouted in the sunshine for the Golden Knights.

Jonathan Marchessault delivered the only goal of the second period to put Vegas ahead, 4-0, through 40 minutes.

Karlsson netted his 10th goal of the playoffs in the third period before Michael Amadio potted his third postseason goal to put the game out of reach at 6-0. As the clock ticked down, the Vegas Golden Knights punched their tickets to the Stanley Cup Final for the second time in franchise history.

The victory marked Adin Hill's second shutout of the series as his 23-save effort ended the season for Dallas and sent Vegas to the final stage.

After both teams shook hands, Mark Stone summoned assistant captains Reilly Smith and Alex Pietrangelo to receive the Clarence Campbell Bowl as Western Conference Champions.

With the west won, the Golden Knights set their sights on the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup Final.

"The end goal is the Stanley Cup," said Mark Stone. "Take a picture and move on."
