"John Stevens is a very respected NHL coach with an extensive resume that adds considerably to our staff," McCrimmon said. "We are excited to add a two-time Stanley Cup winner with head coaching experience."
"Sean Burke is a great addition to the organization, with tremendous experience as an elite NHL goaltender and an accomplished coach and executive," he added. "We are pleased to keep Mike Rosati in an influential role across the organization. With those two and Henderson goaltending coach Fred Brathwaite, we have proven, qualified expertise at the goalie position."
Stevens, 56, is entering his 25th season of professional coaching, his 17th in the NHL. He spent the last three years as an assistant coach with the Dallas Stars after previous stints as a head coach, associate head coach and assistant coach with the Los Angeles Kings and Philadelphia Flyers. He won the Stanley Cup twice with Los Angeles (2012, '14) and led the AHL's Philadelphia Phantoms to the Calder Cup in 2005.
Stevens enjoyed a 13-year professional career as a defenseman, including 53 NHL games across five seasons. At the AHL level he was a captain, a two-time All-Star, two-time Calder Cup champion and was enshrined in the AHL Hall of Fame in 2012. Stevens and Burke were teammates on the 1993-94 Hartford Whalers.
Burke, 55, joins the Golden Knights entering his 15th season as an NHL executive. He has experience with the Arizona Coyotes and Montreal Canadiens in various roles, including assistant general manager, goaltending coach, scout and director of player development. In addition, Burke has extensive international experience, serving as general manager of several Canadian Men's National Teams since 2016-17.
Burke transitioned to the front office immediately following a standout playing career that spanned 18 NHL seasons and 10 NHL teams. He represented Canada in two Winter Olympic Games, five World Championships and the World Junior Championship.
Rosati, 54, has been a member of the Golden Knights staff since the franchise's inception, joining in 2016 and spending the last two years as the team's goaltending coach. In his new role as Manager of Goaltending Development and Scouting, Rosati will work closely with Burke, the team's player development staff and amateur and pro scouting staffs.
