VEGAS (February 1, 2022) - The Vegas Golden Knights announced today, February 1, the organization's plans in recognizing Black History Month throughout February. The team's efforts will be highlighted with a Black History Month game on Saturday, February 26 when the Golden Knights host the Colorado Avalanche. Over the month of February, the organization will invite select schools and classes to City National Arena to watch as the Golden Knights take the ice during the team's official practice. A virtual Q&A session for invited area youth will also be held featuring select members of the VGK and HSK organization. Local schools will have the opportunity to experience the Black Hockey History Mobile Tour, which will be making a stop in Las Vegas as part of the 2022 Honda NHL® All-Star Weekend. The mobile museum is expected to make an appearance at 28 NHL cities across North America to showcase diversity in the sport.
During warmups of the contest on February 26, the Golden Knights will wear specialty jerseys that will be signed and available for purchase through an online auction. T-Mobile Arena will feature various in-game activations as part of the initiative. Select merchandise for Black History Month will be available at The Arsenal at City National Arena.
Additional information regarding the organization's plans for Black History Month will be announced at a later date.
