Vegas Golden Knights Announce Roster Transactions
Vegas Golden Knights General Manager Kelly McCrimmon announces the following roster transactions
Smith has appeared in a total of 686 NHL games, collecting 417 points (174 G, 243 A) since making his debut in 2012. After joining Vegas prior to the 2017-18 campaign, the forward ranks fifth on the Golden Knights in games played (321), third in goals (98), fourth in assists (132) and third in total points (230). During the 2021-22 season, Smith posted 38 points (16 G, 22 A) in 56 contests and recorded his 400th career-point with an assist in Boston on December 14. In postseason play, Smith leads the Golden Knights in all-time scoring with 52 points (14 G, 38 A) and has appeared in each of the franchise's 66 games during the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The native of Ontario was acquired by Vegas from the Florida Panthers during the 2017 NHL Expansion Draft and previously played for the Boston Bruins and Dallas Stars. Smith was selected by Dallas in the third round (69th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
Pacioretty played in 224 games with the Golden Knights since being acquired by the club prior to the 2018-19 season. The forward posted a total of 194 points (97 G, 97 A) with Vegas over four campaigns. Pacioretty spent the previous 10 seasons in Montreal with the Canadiens.
Coghlan has appeared in 88 NHL games, all with the Golden Knights. The defenseman made his debut on February 5, 2021, at T-Mobile Arena against the Los Angeles Kings and has registered 19 points (6 G, 13 A) in his career.
Howden played in 47 games with Vegas last season and registered 20 points (9 G, 11 A). His nine goals over the 2021-22 campaign tied a career high. Before being acquired by the Golden Knights in July of 2021, the forward spent three seasons in New York with the Rangers and appeared in 178 NHL games. Howden, a native of Calgary, played parts of five seasons in the Western Hockey League with the Moose Jaw Warriors and was drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the first round (27th overall) of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.
Rondbjerg made his NHL debut on October 14, 2021, in Los Angeles against the Kings. The forward went on to skate in a total of 30 NHL games, all with the Golden Knights, during the 2021-22 campaign and recorded six points (2 G, 4 A). In addition to his time with Vegas, Rondbjerg has appeared in 78 games in the AHL with the Henderson Silver Knights and the Chicago Wolves. The Denmark native was selected by the Golden Knights in the third round (65th overall) of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.
Rempal has played in 11 NHL games during parts of three seasons with the Vancouver Canucks, Carolina Hurricanes and Los Angeles Kings. During the 2021-22 campaign, Rempal appeared in 55 AHL games with the Abbotsford Canucks and led the team in total scoring with 69 points (33 G, 36 A) in 55 games. The Calgary native played two seasons of NCAA hockey with Clarkson University and an additional three seasons in the BCHL with the Nanaimo Clippers.
Froese is an 11-year pro who spent 2021-22 with the American Hockey League's Stockton Heat. The forward has appeared in 116 NHL games with Calgary, Montreal, Tampa Bay and Toronto, recording 17 points (6 G, 11 A). Froese was selected by Chicago in the fourth round (119th overall) in the 2009 NHL Draft.
Hutchinson spent parts of the last two seasons in Toronto with the Maple Leafs, appearing in 10 total contests. He also played for the Toronto Marlies of the AHL in parts of the last four seasons, making 28 appearances in the 2021-22 campaign. Hutchinson was drafted in the 3rd round (77th overall) by the Boston Bruins in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
