VEGAS (July 28, 2021) - Vegas Golden Knights General Manager Kelly McCrimmon announced today, July 28, the following roster transactions: the team has acquired forward Evgenii Dadonov from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for defenseman Nick Holden and a third-round draft pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft (previously belonging to the Vancouver Canucks). The team has also signed forward Mattias Janmark to a one-year contract worth $2,000,000, goaltender Laurent Brossoit to a two-year contract worth an average annual value of $2,325,000, forward Patrick Brown to a two-year contract worth $750,000, forward Sven Baertschi to a one-year contract worth $750,000 and forward Gage Quinney to a one-year contract worth $750,000.

Dadonov, 32, appeared in 55 games last season for the Ottawa Senators and posted 20 points (13 G, 7 A) to go with four penalty minutes. He posted 25 or more goals in three consecutive seasons with the Florida Panthers (2017-20), including the 2018-19 season, where he finished with a career-high 70 points (28 G, 42 A). In 335 total NHL games, Dadonov has tallied 222 points (104 G, 118 A) to go with 46 penalty minutes. The Chelyabinsk, Russia native was originally a third-round selection (71st overall) by the Florida Panthers in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
Janmark, 28, finished the 2020-21 season with 24 points (11 G, 13 A) to go with 10 penalty minutes in 56 games. He was acquired by the Golden Knights on April 12, 2021 and appeared in 15 regular-season games for Vegas, finishing with five points (1 G, 4 A). During the 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Janmark posted eight points (4 G, 4 A) in 16 games, including a hat trick performance against the Minnesota Wild in Game 7 of that series. Before arriving in Vegas, he posted 19 points (10 G, 9 A) to go with eight penalty minutes in 41 games with the Chicago Blackhawks. The Stockholm, Sweden native has recorded 133 points (57 G, 76 A) to go with 86 penalty minutes in 353 career games while suiting up for the Golden Knights, Blackhawks and Dallas Stars (2015-20). The forward was selected in the third round (79th overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft by the Detroit Red Wings.
Brossoit, 28, appeared in 14 games for the Winnipeg Jets during the 2020-21 season and finished with a 6-6-0 record to go with a 2.42 goals-against average and a .918 save percentage. In three seasons with the Jets, he was 25-19-3 with a 2.75 GAA to go with a .913 save percentage. The Port Alberni, British Columbia native, has played in 82 NHL games, making 65 starts, and has a career record of 32-32-5 to go with a 2.83 GAA and a .908 save percentage. Brossoit was as sixth-round selection (164th overall) by the Calgary Flames during the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
Brown, 29, appeared in four regular-season games with the Golden Knights during the 2020-21 season and played in 12 Stanley Cup Playoff games, scoring two goals. He has appeared in 33 total NHL regular-season games and has posted three points (2 G, 1 A) to go with 10 penalty minutes. He has also appeared in in 22 career Stanley Cup Playoff games, scoring three goals. Prior to the 2020-21 season, Brown was named the first captain in Henderson Silver Knights history. He appeared in nine games for Henderson and finished with eight points (3 G, 5 A) to go with four penalty minutes. During the 2019-20 season with the Chicago Wolves, he recorded 21 points (7 G, 14 A) to go with 26 penalty minutes in 60 games. Before initially signing with Vegas on July 1, 2019, Brown helped lead the Charlotte Checkers to the 2018-19 Calder Cup championship after recording 35 points (19 G, 16 A) in 70 games during the regular season. The Bloomfield Hills, Michigan native finished with 10 points (5 G, 5 A) to go with 18 penalty minutes in 11 Calder Cup playoff games.
Baertschi, 28, appeared in 24 games for the American Hockey League's Utica Comets during the 2020-21 season and recorded 14 points (5 G, 9 A) to go with 10 penalty minutes. The Bern, Switzerland native has appeared in a total of 291 regular-season NHL games for the Calgary Flames and Vancouver Canucks since entering the league in the 2011-12 season. He has recorded 138 points (66 G, 72 A) to go with 78 penalty minutes. Baertschi was selected 13th overall by the Calgary Flames during the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
Quinney, 25, appeared in 19 games for the Henderson Silver Knights during the 2020-21 season, finishing with 17 points (10 G, 7 A) to go with eight penalty minutes. He became the first player born in the state of Nevada to appear in an NHL game after playing against Florida on February 22, 2020. He recorded his first NHL point, an assist, at Anaheim on February 23, 2020, and appeared in three total games for the Golden Knights during the 2019-20 season. The Las Vegas native appeared in 46 games for the Chicago Wolves in 2019-20 and posted 36 points (17 G, 19 A) to go with eight penalty minutes. Quinney originally signed a two-year, entry-level contract with the Golden Knights on June 1, 2018, and re-signed with the team on October 7, 2020.
