VEGAS (February 27, 2020) - Vegas Golden Knights General Manager Kelly McCrimmon announced today, February 27, the following roster transaction: the team has recalled forward Gage Quinney from the American Hockey League's Chicago Wolves.
Quinney became the first player born in the state of Nevada to appear in an NHL game after playing against Florida on February 22. He recorded his first NHL point, an assist, at Anaheim on February 23. The Las Vegas native has appeared in 43 games for the Wolves this season and has posted 33 points (15 G, 18 A) to go with eight penalty minutes. Last season with Chicago, Quinney recorded 43 points (19 G, 24 A) to go with 17 penalty minutes in 68 games. He helped lead the Wolves to a Calder Cup Final appearance after finishing with nine points (4 G, 5 A) in 18 Calder Cup playoff games. Quinney's first stint in professional hockey came with the ECHL's Wheeling Nailers during the 2016-17 season. He recorded 44 points (18 G, 26 A) to go with 10 penalty minutes in 45 games. He spent the 2017-18 season with the American Hockey League's Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and finished with 33 points (14 G, 19 A) with 18 penalty minutes in 57 games. Quinney signed a two-year, entry-level contract with the Golden Knights on June 1, 2018.
