In their first game back from the bye week, the Vegas Golden Knights (26-20-7) skated to a 4-3 win against the Carolina Hurricanes (29-19-3) on Friday night at PNC Arena.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
Vegas took a 2-0 lead in the first 10 minutes of the game as Paul Stastny and Jonathan Marchessault scored consecutive goals for the Golden Knights. Teuvo Teravainen cut the lead to 2-1 in the second period but his was the lone goal in the middle period. With less than eight minutes to play, Nate Schmidt extended the Vegas lead to 3-2, but a goal from Brock McGinn just 16 seconds later brought the Hurricanes back to within a goal. After Sebastian Aho tied the game with a power-play goal, Alex Tuch answered with a power-play strike of his own to give the Golden Knights a 4-3 lead with less than three minutes to play. Malcolm Subban closed the door as Vegas picked up the win.

Jonathan Marchessault:Marchessault posted one goal and one assist in the first period.
Reilly Smith: Smith assisted on both first-period goals for the Golden Knights.
Paul Stastny: Stastny chipped in a goal and assisted on the game-winning goal.
Malcolm Subban: Subban stood tall with 22 saves in his first start under Pete DeBoer.
