The Vegas Golden Knights (23-15-6) knocked off the Philadelphia Flyers (22-14-5), 5-4, on Thursday night at T-Mobile Arena for their third straight win on home ice.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
Claude Giroux opened a wild first period with his 13th goal of the season before Shea Theodore got the Golden Knights on the board. Max Pacioretty buried a power-play goal at 10:08 to give Vegas a 2-1 edge. In his first game at forward, Jon Merrill beat Carter Hart for his first goal of the season to make it 3-1 Golden Knights. Travis Konecny scored shortly after Merrill, but Pacioretty struck again late in the frame to give the home team a 4-2 advantage after 20 minutes. Cody Glass potted his fifth goal of the season during the second period to extend the Vegas lead to three goals, but the Flyers battled back as Sean Couturier scored midway through the second and early in the third to close the gap to 5-4. Marc-Andre Fleury stood tall as the Golden Knights killed off two late penalties to hold on for the victory.

TURNING POINT
The Golden Knights found themselves down two men in the final minute of the game. As the Flyers circled the Vegas zone looking for the equalizer, the Golden Knights' penalty killers held off the attack and sealed the win.
