VEGAS (January 21, 2018) - Vegas Golden Knights General Manager George McPheeannounced today, January 21, the following roster transaction: the team has acquired a fifth round pick in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for defenseman Brad Huntand a sixth round pick in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.
Minnesota agreed to trade Vegas the better pick (i.e. the lower overall pick number) between Minnesota's own 2019 fifth round draft pick and Washington's 2019 fifth round pick (previously acquired by Minnesota).
McPhee will be available to discuss the transaction following the Golden Knights 11:30 a.m. PT practice on Tuesday, January 22 at City National Arena.
During his two-year stint in Vegas, Hunt appeared in 58 games and finished with 25 points (5 G, 20 A) to go with eight penalty minutes. During his six years in the NHL, Hunt has appeared in 91 games and has recorded 34 points (7 G, 27 A) and, prior to joining Vegas, spent time with Edmonton, Nashville and St. Louis.
