VEGAS (August 8, 2022) - Vegas Golden Knights General Manager Kelly McCrimmon announced today, August 8, that the team has signed forward Nicolas Roy to a five-year contract extension worth an average annual value of $3,000,000.

Roy earned career-highs in games played (78), goals (15), assists (24) and points (39) over the 2021-22 campaign with the Golden Knights, his third season in Vegas. The forward also represented Team Canada at the 2022 IIHF World Championships, joining teammates Zach Whitecloudand Logan Thompson, and skated in each of the team's 10 games in Finland over the summer. Roy was originally acquired by the Golden Knights from the Carolina Hurricanes on June 26, 2019, after appearing in seven NHL contests with Carolina. The Quebec native spent four seasons in the AHL with the Chicago Wolves and the Charlotte Checkers, and another four seasons in the QMJHL with the Chicoutimi Saguenéens.
