Tell us about yourself!

I have been teaching for 33 years now. I still love what I do and feel lucky to be able to do it! I teach 4th grade now, but have also taught kindergarten, second and third Grade. In my classroom, I have a section devoted to the Islanders and it has a lot of pictures I have taken at games and with players from the past. When the Islanders win a home game, everyone in the class receives a no homework pass. They are HUGE fans now! I have been an Islander fan since I was in middle school. It was Pat LaFontaine who got me interested in hockey and the team. I am a Season Ticket Member and I love watching the games at UBS Arena. My husband Tom and I have five children who are between 18-28 years old. They are what I am most proud of! All of them grew up as Islander fans - they didn’t have much of a choice - and go to games with us whenever they can. We also have two dogs who prefer watching home games.

If you played hockey, what position would you play and why?

I'm pretty sure the Islanders would not want my help - and I should stick to teaching - but it would have to be offense! I like to help my students reach their goals so maybe I could do the same for the Islanders!

Who is your favorite Islanders player and why?

Honestly, I don’t know if I have a favorite player at the moment. I just love watching the team play and know they each bring something different to the game, but if I HAD to choose just one it would have to be Brock Nelson. My jersey is number 29 for my birthday and after all I was born in Brock-tober!
