Due to efforts to minimize COVID-19 outbreaks, especially "concern for a rising number of positive cases as well as the potential for continued COVID spread in the coming days," the league decided to postpone upcoming games for Toronto, Vancouver, Boston and Nashville.
Citing a "number of Toronto and Vancouver players entering the league's COVID protocol over the past two days," the NHL postponed Saturday's Toronto at Vancouver game. In addition, both teams' games for Sunday-Toronto at Seattle and Arizona at Vancouver-are postponed.
The decision focused on those four teams with high numbers of players in COVID protocol and was made by medical groups representing the NHL, NHL Players' Association and the individual clubs., the NHLPA's and the Clubs' medical groups.
For similar reasons, the league has postponed all Boston and Nashville games "at least through the NHL's holiday break" through Dec. 26. Boston postponements include Dec. 18 at Montreal; Dec. 19 at Ottawa; Dec. 21 vs. Carolina; Dec. 23 vs. Colorado.
Nashville's postponed games are Dec. 19 at Carolina; Dec. 21 vs. Winnipeg; Dec. 23 at Florida.
The League is in the process of reviewing and revising its regular season schedule. All teams, including the Kraken, have followed, and will continue to follow, all recommended guidelines aimed at protecting the health and safety of their Players, staff and communities at large as set by the NHL, local, state/provincial and federal agencies.
