Stars goalie Bishop will miss at least two games
Dallas Stars goaltender Ben Bishop left their game against the Ottawa Senators on Monday with a lower-body injury. He has been ruled out for their next two games against the Nashville Predators on Tuesday and Anaheim Ducks on Friday.
Bishop (59th in Yahoo) stopped all 12 shots faced before being relieved by backup Kari Lehtonen (20 percent owned), who allowed three goals on 18 shots faced (.833 save percentage) in a 3-2 overtime loss. Lehtonen is expected to start the next two games, making him a viable in-house replacement. Lehtonen ($7,100 in DraftKings) has a tough matchup against the Predators (3.22 goals per game, sixth in NHL), but he's 11-11-1 with a .909 save percentage in 25 career games against them.
An outside replacement for Bishop is Winnipeg Jets backup goaltender Steve Mason (5 percent), who was activated off injured reserve Monday after being out with a concussion since Jan. 9. Mason is 3-6-1 with an .897 SV% in 11 games. The intrigue of Mason ($8,000 in DraftKings) is that the Jets allow the fifth-fewest goals per game (2.66) and he's expected to start against the New York Rangers on Tuesday (7 p.m. ET; MSG+2, TSN3, NHL.TV). The Jets play five road games in eight days, giving Mason the opportunity to see more than one start.
Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Tristan Jarry is also worth a flier after stopping 35 of 38 shots faced in a 4-3 overtime win against the Calgary Flames on Monday. Jarry (27 percent) is 12-5-2 with a .913 SV% and two shutouts in 23 appearances and has added value in the absence of starter Matt Murray (concussion). The Penguins have three more games this week against the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday, Maple Leafs on Saturday and Stars on Sunday.
Other goalie streaming options: Anton Khudobin, BOS (31 percent); Antti Niemi, MTL (12 percent); Charlie Lindgren, MTL (11 percent); Jared Coreau, DET (1 percent)
Boeser out 4-6 weeks for Canucks
Vancouver Canucks right wing Brock Boeser left their game with a back injury against the New York Islanders on Monday. He is expected to make a full recovery in 4-6 weeks.
Boeser (68th in Yahoo) leads the Canucks in goals (29), points (55), shots on goal (179) and power-play points (23) and ranks second in rookie scoring behind Islanders center Mathew Barzal.
An in-house replacement option for Boeser is wing Brendan Leipsic (LW/RW, 2 percent), who had two goals and one assist in Vancouver's 4-3 overtime win against the Islanders. Leipsic, acquired from the Vegas Golden Knights on Feb. 28, has five points (two goals, three assists) and 12 SOG in three games since the trade. He is playing on the Canucks top line with center Bo Horvat (36 percent owned), who has points in three straight games. Jake Virtanen (RW, 1 percent), who's also on that line after Boeser's injury, could see a scoring uptick for the rest of the season.
Outside replacement options for Boeser:Tom Wilson, LW/RW, WSH (40 percent); Sam Reinhart, C/LW/RW, BUF (36 percent); Kevin Fiala, LW/RW, NSH (31 percent); Tomas Tatar, LW/RW, VGK (21 percent); Justin Williams, RW, CAR (18 percent); Nick Bjugstad, C/RW, FLA (17 percent)
